An online musical series titled “Dati Akong Paraluman” is set to premiere on June 12, as part of celebration commemorating the Philippine Independence Day.
In a Facebook post of Philippine Opera Company on Sunday, June 7, it said that the show will feature classical and crossover performers in style, as well as reading of short verses of Philippine poetry in between songs.
“The idea is quite simple: to celebrate the beauty of the Philippines that was and using such beauty to inspire viewers to care for the Philippines yet to come,” the post read.
The show will be divided into seven episodes, which will be held every 30 minutes starting 5 p.m. on the organizers’ Facebook page.
The show is a co-production of Stages Production Specialists and Philippine Opera Company, with the support of Open House Fundraiser and Philstage.
“No fundraising, no guilt-piling, no heavy lectures. Perhaps not so noisy but a genuine celebration, no less, of the land of our lives,” it added.
