Singer Zendee Rose Tenerefe has forged a new lease on life, latching on to a new social media platform.

Not a few might still remember Tenerefe.

She first gained notice in 2012 as YouTube’s “Random Girl.”

It all started with a fan uploading on YouTube a video of her singing Whitney Houston’s version of the classic “I Will Always Love You,” as with the “Dreamgirls” hit “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.”

With both becoming huge hits, it led to Tenerefe landing an appearance on the GMA-7 show “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” and, eventually, “The Ellen Degeneres Show.”

More, Tenerefe, was able to secure a recording contract, releasing an album in 2013.

It didn’t catch on though, and her career noticeably waned.

Now, thanks to TikTok, she is back in business.

The 29-year-old went viral on the platform early this year parodying the popular Sarah Geronimo hit “Tala,” creating her own version dubbed “Gala.”

She has gained 4.9 million followers on TikTok since.

Happy as she is with her second wind, Tenerefe said she is doing it simply for fun, hoping to inspire fellow Pinoys amid the ongoing pandemic.
