Legendary bassist Gene Simmons, recently shared his thoughts about rock music in an interview with  “Q1043 New York’s iHeartRadio.”

According to Gene, rock is dead in all ways and online streaming services are to blame.

He related: “As soon as streaming came in, you took away a chance for the new great bands who are there in the shadows, who can’t quit their day job because you can’t make a dime putting your music out there, because when you download stuff, it’s one-hundredth or one-thousandth of one penny.”

“The Demon” went on to compare how artists and bands in the past had recording labels to count on, providing them millions of dollars to go on tours, produce music without worrying for a nine-to-five job.

As you might already know, aside from his role at KISS, he was also the main producer of Van Halen while they were recording their demo tapes back in 1976-1977.

Among KISS’ hits songs are “I Was Made For Lovin’ You,” “Love Gun” and “Heaven’s On Fire.”
