Kelly Clarkson is sending out Valentine feels with her cover of “Lovefool.”

The Grammy-winning singer and most popular American Idol winner ever covered the mid-90’s Cardigan hit on yesterday’s episode of the “Kelly Clarkson Show.”

“Lovefool” is from the Cardigan’s breakthrough album “First Band On The Moon” and was orginally sung by Nina Persson and written by Peter Svenson and Persson for said album that was released back in 1996.

“Lovefool” spent seven weeks at the top of Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 Airplay Chart.

The track was included on the Baz Luhrman film “Romeo + Juliet” that eventually pushed the song to success in the U.S.

Clarkson has a knack for putting a new sparkle on hit songs. Something she made full use of when she was first seen around the globe in “American Idol” where she became the eventual first winner before said show became a global phenomenon.

Clarkson’s cover of “Lovefool” was in anticipation of the coming Valentine’s Day and as a treat for her audiences on the “Kelly Clarkson Show.”

The program is described as thus on its YouTube channel: “The Kelly Clarkson Show is the uplifting daytime destination for humor, heart, and connection featuring Emmy-winning talk show host, Grammy-winning artist and America’s original idol, Kelly Clarkson.”

Kelly Clarkson usually features her covers of popular hits on her show.
