A new documentary featuring the former Beatle is forthcoming.

A trailer for a 6-part documentary titled “McCartney 3,2,1” was released yesterday on the official Hulu channel on YouTube.

The documentary features former Beatle and legendary singer-songwriter Sir Paul McCartney together with rock and Hiphop music producer Rick Rubin “dissecting Beatles classics like “Come Together,” “All My Loving,” “With A Little Help From My Friends,” and “In My Life,” sharing behind-the-scenes stories, and even playing bits of unreleased music from the vast Beatles archive,” Rolling Stone reports.

On the monochromatic trailer, McCartney is seen with the long-bearded Rubin, at the center of what looks like a large darkened room, the spotlight trained at the two men, in front of what looks like a classic mixing board, perhaps the kind that the Beatles used to record music on during the 60’s. The easily identifiable opening riff of “Come Together” can be heard as McCartney says “Ringo..” and gestures an air drum roll in time with Starr’s signature drum roll. Cut to McCartney singing along the chorus of the aforementioned John Lennon-written song. Then cut again to Rick Rubin turning up a fader as he bobs his head along another familiar Beatle hit and exclaims to Sir Paul, “What do you remember about this?”

This perhaps sums up what Beatles and music fanatics can expect of this documentary which Craig Erwich, Hulu Originals and ABS Entertainment’s president described in a statement as, “Never before have fans had the opportunity to hear Paul McCartney share, in such expansive, celebratory detail, the experience of creating his life’s work – more than 50 years of culture-defining music.”

Besides Paul McCartney, music fans and pop music history buffs will surely appreciate the keen perspective–and ear–a veteran music producer like Rubin will bring as these two significant music figures dissect the music that millions of people have grown up listening to and still love.

As Hulu’s official statement said, “To be an observer as Paul and Rick Rubin deconstruct how some of the biggest hits in music history came to be is truly enlightening.”

All six-episodes of Hulu exclusive “McCartney 3,2,1” will be available to stream starting July 16.

The documentary is directed by Zachary Heinzerling.
