On Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “Switch On” sold a total of 174,037 countries in two days. The album sold 88,896 copies on the first day on Aug. 2 to top the daily physical album chart and sold 81,141 copies the following day and also ranked No. 1 on the chart.
Their last album “All Yours” garnered 281,952 copies in sales in the first week of release, according to Hanteo Chart.
“Switch On” is ASTRO’s eighth mini-album and it contains six tracks: “After Midnight,” “Footprint,” “Waterfall,” “Sunset Sky,” “My Zone” and Don’t Worry.”
Members Cha Eun-woo, Jinjin and Rocky participated as songwriters in the track “After Midnight.”
This is ASTRO’s comeback in four months and during their press conference for the album last Aug. 2, Jinjin said, “We received a lot of attention and love from our last album and made a quick comeback to repay it.”
About “Switch On,” MJ said, “I hope this album will remind you of ASTRO when you think of summer just like you think of ice cream on a hot summer day.”
“ASTRO will work hard with the aspiration to become the ‘summer king,’” said Cha Eun-woo.
Moon Bin revealed that they filmed the music video for “After Midnight” outdoors and the place felt so familiar. He learned that it was the place where ASTRO filmed the music video for “Breathless,” the title track for the second mini-album “Summer Vibes.”
ASTRO made their debut in 2016 with the album “Spring Up.”
