K-pop boy band ASTRO’s new release “Switch On” grabbed first place on the weekly physical album chart.
Korea’s Hanteo Chart released the rankings for the weekly album chart covering the period Aug. 2 to 8.
ASTRO’s “Switch On” took first place, selling 275,145 copies for the week. The total is also the album’s first week sales, lower by 6,807 copies compared to the first week sales of their last album “All Yours,” which had 281,952 copies. “Switch On” sold 88,896 copies on the first day of release compared to 135,075 for “All Yours.”
“Switch On” topped iTunes Top Albums and Top Songs charts in 37 countries and regions. The music video for “After Midnight,” the album’s carrier track, reached 10 million views on YouTube in 34 hours and 30 minutes and reached 20 million views in 79 hours. The music video has 25.99 million views as of writing.
Placing second on the weekly album chart is Golden Child’s “Game Changer,” which garnered 126,100 copies followed by Weeekly’s “Play Game, Holiday” with 30,603 copies; Dreamcatcher’s “Summer Holiday,” 30,204 and EXO member D.O.’s “Empathy” with 18,206.
