From “Pelikula” comes a new loveteam.
We are of course referring to the current hit single by Janine Teñoso and Arthur Nery titled “Pelikula.” Since its release, the song has become an instant fan favorite and has easily crossed its first million listens just days after its release.
Granted that Janine and Arthur have their own solid following that instantly supported the song, there was something obvious about “Pelikula. Yes, the song is quite catchy, but fans of Janine and Arthur noticed something else too. They all thought that there is strong chemistry between the two. And the vibe between the two not only made for good listening, but gave positive kilig feels as well.
And said kilig feels is captured on video with the release of the official music video for “Pelikula.” Said music video is the first ever music video to feature Janine Teñoso and Arthur Nery together.
Both singers are two of the most sought-after young singers today. Janine had a breakthrough with a couple of hit singles, the biggest of which is “’Di Na Muli.” Meanwhile, Arthur’s fame was a slow build explosion that started with his album “Letters Never Sent” with its hit single “Higa” and since then, has become one of the leading male singers of Lo-Fi styled R&B in the country today.
Both singers only recently met, and have heard of one another through the songs that they released. But when their paths crossed, the connection was palpable creatively as is the admiration. And “Pelikula” seems to be just the start of a long and beautiful collaboration between Janine and Arthur.
Viva Records is encouraging the creative partnership between the two. An executive said that “Janine and Arthur work extremely well together. We daresay that there’s magic when they’re together. And it comes out and we hear it every time they sing together.”
“Pelikula” is the first collaborative effort between Janine and Arthur. The song is written by these two young songwriters. The track is produced by Civ Fontanilla and arranged by Janno Queyquep and recorded, mixed and mastered by Joel Mendoza at Viva Recording Studios.
The official music video for “Pelikula” is directed by Paul Basinilio, with Tom Redoble director of photography, production design by Eric Manalo, art direction by Claudette Miranda and choreography by Jobel Dayrit and is produced by Viva Records.
