Kapuso star Matt Lazano has admitted that he was really hurt when friends make unwanted body-shaming labels about his weight.

Sinasabi nila ‘uy ang taba-taba mo na, dapat ganito, dapat ganyan,” said Matt, a plus-size celebrity, during a Zoom interview with the entertainment press recently.

I stopped for four years. So that’s when I started to focus on my music.

That’s what matters. Nag-eenjoy ‘yung mga tao sa. bars. Doon na ako nagkaroon ng confidence pagdating sa weight ko kasi I give them my best when it comes to performing,” Matt said.

Matt started in showbiz in 2008. His first film was “When I Met You” from GMA Films where he played the younger brother of KC Concepcion. Prior, Matt appeared as an extra in several fims and TV series.

Also a Bench endorser, Matt is set to do the voice for Big Bert Armstrong in the latest adaptation of the popular Japanese anime series “Voltes V.” In 2016, he was the grand winner of Eat Bulaga’s “Spogigy” singing contest.

For the first time, Matt will also debut his single titled “Kuwarto.”

Matt said: “Kuwarto is my most recent song na sinulat ko nitong pandemic lang.  It’s about failed relationship. Nararanasan natin yan at nasasaktan tayong lahat. It’s all about self love kahit na nasasaktan na tayo.”

But the charming actor-singer said that the song is not based in his personal experience. “This is not my experience now. Originally, this is a love song pero somewhere sa song, hindi pala.”

Matt said that he has composed more than 10 songs, and he’s planning to release two songs this year under GMA Records.
