Soul balladeer Garrett Bolden has been in the local music industry for less than five years, but he’s already had a few awards to his name. His single “Óur Love” is also enjoying primetime billing as the theme song of ”I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.’

But the 30-year-old Garrett is not one to rest on his laurels. On January 28, his latest single under GMA Music is released and it’s entitled “Pwede Pa Ba?” It’s his first Tagalog composition, and he’s proud to have composed it himself along with two bandmates.

” Pwede Pa ba? is actually a hugot song and we hope a lot of people will relate to it,” Garrett says. He likens his piece to couples who parted ways and then later on regretted what they’ve done. So they wonder if a reconciliation or getting back together is still possible.

“Basically, the song is for people who realized the love they lost. They learned that they still want the same person but at the same time, they’re thinking that it might be too late. Hopefully it’s relatable because there are a lot of facing this kind of situation,” he stated.

What many people don’t know is that Garrett started singing at the age of 16. He’s self-taught, mainly relying on his life experiences to steer his career.

“Ï didn’t have a great childhood, so singing was an escape for me. I wanted to make my family proud and music really healed me,” the Kapuso artist revealed.

It took a lot of courage for Garrett to join national singing competitions and luckily, he was one of the Top 5 finalists in the first season of GMA Network’s The Clash. This gave him the big break to sign up with GMA Music and soon after that, his debut single entitled “Lilipad Na”was released in February 2019.

In this short span of time, he earned acclaim as New Male Recording Artist of the Year at the 11th PMPC Star Awards for Music and the 2020 People’s Choice Award -Favorite New Male Artist of Awit Awards.

As far as his 2022 goals are concerned, Garrett says he wants to focus more on his song writing.

“I know it takes a lot of hard work but am into it. I will try to write more English songs because my goal is to have an international release. I really want to go out of my comfort zone when it comes to my career. I also want to go into hosting and acting,” he pointed out.

Knowing how much of a go-getter Garrett is, his followers are confident that the talented crooner is well on his way to achieving his dreams.
