TikTok is not the only platform that can make a hit these days.
Apparently, Netflix can do it too, just like what it did for UK artist Kate Bush whose song “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” surged up the charts anew as part of the soundtrack of hit sci-fi series “Stranger Things” fourth season.
The series continues to be the most watched series on the platform, helping the aforementioned Kate Bush-track attract new listeners.
In fact, The Official Singles Charts in the UK posted that it’s the number 2 song (as of June 10) just behind Harry Styles’ latest album single “As It Was.”
The track was also the biggest song on Spotify as of last week.
Reports said that it’s combined streams across platforms, at its peak since the series started on Netflix, has already reached around 9 million daily streams.
Thanks again to “Stranger Things” for using “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” in a key climactic scene in one of the episodes on the series.
This is the fourth season of the series that stars Millie Bobbi Brown (as Eleven), Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair) among others.
Bush originally released “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),” included in the album “Hounds Of Love” 37-years ago.
