The “2022 Pinoy K-pop Star: Hail the Icons” contest that was being held at a mall in Pasay City on July 16 was cut short by the organizer.
“The 2022 Pinoy Kpop Star was interrupted due to unexpected safety reason and ended for safety of audience. We would like to ask everyone in the premises to please leave the vicinity calmly,” according to a statement issued by the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines, the host of the event.

It added, “We extend our apologies to our guests and participants for this incident. For now, cheer for your teams within your hearts and echo your wishes for their success.”
“The final performer(s) who were not able to show their talent today will be our special guests for our 2022 K-Street Festival in September. Please cheer for them! We will also find a way to include them in the 2022 Pinoy Kpop Star finalist,” KCC added.
It said, “Please wait for further announcements regarding 2022 Pinoy Kpop Star and we would like to extend our gratitude for your overwhelming support.”
The “2022 Pinoy K-pop Star: Hail the Icons” has 10 10 participants in the vocal and performance categories.
In the vocal category, the five contestants are Danielle Mei Everett, Joy Lorenze Locsin, Merry Mia Sinaguinan, Sandra Faith Dela Cruz and Stephani Aseron.
In the performance category, the contestants are 7øs, Alpha, Amiel Giann, Principium and Project One.
