All the nine members of K-pop girl group TWICE have renewed their exclusive contracts with their agency.

“We have renewed our contracts with all the members ahead of the expiration of TWICE’s exclusive contract this fall,” announced JYP Entertainment on July 12.

TWICE debuted in October 2015 and their first contracts will expire in October, marking their seventh year in the entertainment business.

The “seven-year curse” refers to the end of the seven-year standard exclusive contracts of K-pop artists that results in either members leaving the agency or group, or disbanding completely.

“TWICE, which played a decisive role in establishing the status of JYP, a K-pop entertainment company, and JYP, which became a strong support for TWICE’s growth into a representative K-pop girl group, agreed to renew the contracts with confidence in the future based on this trust,” JYP Entertainment added.

To celebrate the renewal of their contracts, TWICE’s Sana uploaded on her Instagram Story a photo of all the members joining their hands together with the caption “9WICE.”

Since their debut, TWICE have won the grand prize at various music awards and surpassed 10 million in cumulative album sales in Korea and Japan.
