GMA Network and Regal Entertainment’s weekly anthology ‘Regal Studio Presents’ marks its first anniversary with brand-new and feel-good episodes beginning this Sunday, Sept. 11.
The program, with its values-based storylines and family-oriented episodes, has consistently provided positive vibes and inspiration to Kapuso viewers every Sunday afternoon.
GMA’s First Vice President for Program Management Department Joey R. Abacan said that to make these anniversary episodes special, they had to trust their guts and gamble on a lot of aspects, “One thing that we’ve learned from Mother Lily is you have to have a heart of a gambler. Because in anything that you’re going to be doing, when you’re gambling, there’s a possibility that you’re going to be hitting a jackpot. I could assure you that the three series have very good stories. But as far as the casting is concerned, we took it a little bit further. Mahilig tayong manuod ng Hollywood movies ‘di ba? ‘Di natin alam na mag ki-click pala sina Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman. Dito rin gusto ko makita kung mag-ki-click sina Lianne at Carlo, kung mag-ki-click sina Yasser at Althea, kung mag-ki-click sina Jana at Bryce. Pag nag click ‘yang mga ‘yan, masasabi ko na nadadala na ako ng mga artista at mga direktor ko, and nagse-serve talaga ng purpose yung ‘Regal Studio Presents’ for doing all these things,” he said.
Regal Entertainment Inc. and Regal Multimedia Inc. COO & Vice President Roselle Monteverde shared the secret behind the success of the program, “Putting great minds and great talent. Those passionate people are together in this ‘Regal Studio Presents.’ Lahat focused na mapaganda ang bawat episode. We tap all those bagong artista sa GMA-7 and putting them together para magbago yung look, magbago yung pino-project na mga stories. Natutuwa rin ako kasi lahat ng directors na nakakatrabaho ko are very passionate sa mga project. So, it’s really hard work from everyone, a lot of effort and brainstorming and concepts from the creative group. I’m happy and glad na napapasaya namin ang mga tao tuwing Linggo ng hapon,” she revealed.
This Sunday, the romcom episode ‘Love Your Beat’ kicks off the anniversary special featuring Kapuso stars Lianne Valentin and Carlo San Juan. Directed by Crisanto Aquino, the story is about two musically inclined individuals who had their emotional struggles yet through music, they shared a special bond and found a reason to fall in love again.
On Sept. 18, Kapuso viewers will value the importance of honesty and hard work through ‘Eat Must Be Love’ which is bannered by Almira Muhlach, Bryce Eusebio, and Jana Taladro. Directed by Xion Lim, the offering revolves around a girl with a big dream of working in a high-class culinary establishment someday. However, she isn’t proud of her mom’s own “karinderya.” Eventually, her friend will discover their eatery. Will she have a change of heart and will her friend knock some sense out of her?
Completing the month-long celebration on Sept. 25 is the heart-warming episode ‘Win a Date’ which stars Yasser Marta and Althea Ablan. From the direction of Joel Ferrer, the episode is about a big fan of a celebrity heartthrob winning an exclusive one-on-one date with him. However, her expectations are suddenly shattered when her idol turns out to be a snob and is not really interested to meet any of his fans. What will happen to their celebrity-fan relationship?
