Tickets are now being sold for the finale of the Manila International Fashion Week at Okada Manila on Oct. 28. Carrying the theme of “Fashion For All,” the festival will feature the first-ever Manila Fashion Film Competition and proclaim the winners of Catwalk Philippines Season 3 where all the candidates will walk the ramp wearing creations of the Designers Circle of the Philippines (DCP).
MIFW will also give the spotlight on Young Faces To Watch – the next generation of talents that will be tapped for movies, commercials and runway modelling. One of the kids being featured is Ryan James Walcher who will be on the cover of Ganap/Young Faces magazines with his older brother. Ryan is the 11-year old son of actress Patricia Javier and her chiropractor-husband, Dr. Rob Walcher.

MIFW’s schedule of activities was revealed in a press conference last Oct. 13 by DCP officials led by new president Dave Ocampo, chairperson Johnny Abad, auditor John Guarnes and editor Bench Bello. Upcoming designer Joana Marie Lazaro was also introduced with her “I Am Fantabulous”collection.
Catwalk Philippines contestants will be judged in a series of fashion events leading to the Oct. 28 finals. One female and one male winner will be chosen and they will compete in the first Catwalk International Model search to be held next year. Abad said the competition aims to hone a new breed of fashion models dedicated to their profession.

Aside from the fashion shows, there will be the FAME Business and Lifestyle Awards on Oct. 28 and the Assemblage after-party organized by White Canvas Events.

Show director Larry Asistin said MIFW aims to raise funds for the FAME Foundation. “We want to support the DCP because 50 per cent of the designers shut down their boutiques during the pandemic and they’re having a hard time coping with competition from China RTW and online shops. From the ticket sales, we aim to put up a one-stop shop housing all DCP designers. This will be called the Fashion Emporio to be headed by celebrity lawyer, Atty. Maggie Garduque,” Asistin noted.
MIFW events will have a delayed telecast in GMA’s GTV on Nov. 20 at 10:45 pm. Tickets are priced at P500 for Catwalk Philippines and P1000 (show only), P2500 (with cocktails) for Young Faces To Watch . For inquiries, contact ganapmagazine@gmail.com or call 0939 4377465.
