A night full of energy and support from all the fans as ALAMAT launched their first album dubbed “Pasulong” at the Tektite Auditorium last Oct. 28.
ALAMAT has six members, Alas, Tomas, R-Ji, Tango, Mo, and Joa. The group came from different parts of the Philippines showcasing their talent and culture through music.
Making the night even more exciting, the boys performed their songs “Aswang,” “Maharani,” and “Hala” together with P-pop Generation.
Their song “ILY ILY” featuring Lyca Gairanod was played through a video screen as the fans sang along with the lyrics.
During the press conference, each member of the group shared how thankful and overwhelmed they are for the support from their family and fans.
“Actually, hindi ko pa masyadong ramdam nung nasa backstage kami, pero nung lumabas na kami dito at nagperform live nakakaoverwhelmed,” Jao mentioned.
ALAMAT is already showing promise in the music scene as the group received a nomination as Best P-pop Group at the 2022 Awit Awards and several pop culture media outlets. The group is also featured in an international media outlet called The Guardian UK for championing Pinoy roots and culture through their music.
The group highlighted the song “Maharani” as one of their favorite songs in the album.
“Personally gusto ko yung Maharani, kasi iba yung flavor and yung atake niya kasi it represents what our sound like,” said R-Ji during the media conference.
Before ending the show, director Jason Paul Laxamanan, ALAMAT’s artistic director, gave his thanks to all the fans and VIVA Records for helping him create the group.
“Salamat sa lahat na patuloy na pagtiwala sa ALAMAT, sa kabila ng uncertainties, sa mga boss namin sa VIVA na patuloy ang pagsuporta sa amin. Salamat sa mga tagasubaybay ng ALAMAT, ang barangay magiliw isa kayo sa dahilan kung bakit nandito ang ALAMAT,” said Paul. (Carissa Alcantara)
